Lift off!!!
Our 6th Tiny Tapeout chip is heading into Low Earth Orbit on Wednesday at 19:20 CET.
For 16 intrepid chip designers, this is an amazing opportunity to test their designs in space!
We love this project because it combines the democratisation of both space and silicon. By aggregating hundreds of designs onto one chip, and then loading hundreds of cubesats on one rocket, testing custom chips in space is possible for just a few hundred dollars!
TT06 is riding aboard HUNITY, a PocketQube satellite built by Tibor Herman and the team at BME University in Hungary.

The SpASICs project, led by Pat Deegan, designed the integration and created the board that holds our chip. The satellite will run a series of experiments designed by the community, testing how these designs perform in the radiation environment of Low Earth Orbit.
