The European Open Source Academy has presented Matt Venn with the Special Recognition Award for contribution in Skills and Education.
From dismantling watches to building chips and making them accessible to all, part of open source uptake depends on the next generation of skilled developers and builders. Matt has developed excellent and innovative learning experiences for people all over the world.
Since the founding of Tiny Tapeout, Matt enabled thousands of students and professionals to get their microchips fabricated.
This recognition reflects the work of the entire Tiny Tapeout community! The educators who’ve run workshops, the students who’ve designed chips, the fab partners who’ve made manufacturing affordable, and the team working behind the scenes to keep it all running.
The goal of Tiny Tapeout has always been simple: make chip design accessible. Not just to professionals in corporate labs, but to anyone curious enough to try. This award affirms that we’re doing something right.
